Hi Julie, I know I just apply to as many as I can, and typically get assigned a couple. But sometimes I don't get any at all. And other times I get assigned 10 of them. I honestly believe they are assigned by:

1) fitting shopper profile needed

2) experience in these types of shops

3) availability aka what day you requested it, usually the earlier you request it the better chance you'll get it



But that may not be entirely true, it's just my assumption based on my experience thus far. Good luck to you!

Email Overload

I can't stand some companies that send me 30+ emails a day. It's ridiculous and in my opinion rude. A lot of them aren't necessary and could be combined.

I did that shop too and I had to leave my number as a call-back. When the "cremation director" returned my call, I told him I needed to call him back in a couple minutes (so I could get the whole thing recorded)...that did not work as planned as he was calling from his cell and not from the office. So rather than playing "phone tag" I called him on his cell and completed the shop but that call was not recorded. I noted all this in my report and my report was accepted.

The guidelines are there to help you get a general idea of what is required. Sometimes you have to improvise slightly to get the info to complete your reports. A "real" customer would give their personal number if they were serious about getting cremation information.

I had the same issue happen to me twice; the first time my shop was accepted and paid. The second time it happened, which was a month or two later, it was declined because they said I didn't record the call and that the next time something comes up, I need to first contact the MSP and let them know and they will decide how I should proceed. Mind you, the first time it happened I did contact the MSP first before calling them back on their cell phone to complete the call. But the second time I didn't contact the MSP when it happened, because I just assumed that it would be okay since it had happened before. That was completely my fault though, because they made an exception for me the first time. I suggest to anyone doing these shops just make sure it's okay with the MSP first before completing a recorded call shop that's not being recorded lol.

Hi Lisa! I agree with everyone's replies to your post. Don't get discouraged! Mystery shopping is a great way to make some extra money, and there's so many companies out there that have available work! Have you registered with other companies other than here? There's literally hundreds out there! Good luck to you!

Thanks for posting this David! I actually have a quick question regarding this. How long should we wait before contacting an MSP on ISS if we haven't been paid? I have about 4 or 5 shops from the same MSP on here that haven't paid me yet and it's going on 58 days. It says on their agreement page that they pay for completed shops within 45 days. I hate being pushy so I haven't said anything yet. Thanks!


I actually have an update. I emailed them this morning, and within an hour, I received my payment for the 5 shops that were over 50+ days. So happy today! Shopping time!

Thanks Ivan! That was the first time I ever contacted anyone regarding payment problems. I've always been paid on time! I'd never bother anyone unless it was over 55 plus days because I get how crazy it can get.
