I bought a new notebook a few months ago so I could complete my reports in my car. Well, I was in the process of writing out a narrative and what I was writing was not what was showing up on the screen. I was continually correcting and re-correcting and re-re-correcting. I had no idea what in the world was going on.
It wasn't until I approached my daughter that she showed me the problem. Apparently my notebook has a function on the space bar that switches the computer language between English and Spanish. I was writing my report in Spanish! When I thought I had all of the corrections made I submitted the report.
The next day I received a not so nice e-mail from the scheduler about all of the spelling errors that I made. I must have apologized for about three paragraphs and vowed that it would never happen again. I think she got a real chuckle when I told her what happened.
I really need to learn more about computers. It's hell being a dinosaur.
You could try using the computers at the library if time permits. Then you don't have to know anything about the computers--notmuch anyway.
Ha! Thanks for sharing David! Indeed, like Michelle said - using library computers, or those at an internet cafe, is a good way to start. I would suggest taking the time to "play around" on that notebook you bought - explore the options, functionalities, programs...it helps in the long run :)
I'm sorry this happened to you, just change the settings so that you don't get your words changed

It's been a while since I've been atan internet cafe that provided the computers for you
Come to think about it...same here! :)
Getting techno savvy before mystery shopping is very helpful. So much relies on technology anymore. Glad that everyone is helping each other in this post. Even I learned something. Thank you
I've never heard of a notebook with that function. That could be handy. What brand and model is it?
