Hello everyone,
I have been doing shops for some time now and figured it is now time to get online on the forums and say a quick hello. I know its weird to have a greeting on the forums after a long time but hey just started being active again in shopping. I am a private investigator and do this during my down time. I have been using other shop sites I will not name, but this one by far seems more user friendly and communication is great.
It helps put food on the table and the misses happy making my life a whole lot better. What better way then to be out and about doing daily things and making a quick stop to conduct yourself in a shopping experience. All in all, I am a fun loving person who enjoys solving a mystery, and with this the mystery is customer satisfaction and treatment. so to everyone here hats off to you and I hope to learn from those that have been doing this longer than i have and hope the best

Wow, I can only imagine how hard this must have honestly been. I have seen shops from past experiences stumble the individuals when caught off guard. this one for certain is one for the books. Thankfully I haven't encountered one like this yet but when I do I will try my best to be whole hearted and prepared for anything. thank you for posting this shop, as information from these posts will certainly help others in the field when they come across it..
What I have learned from my own experiences is to keep cool, confident and proceed. I am about to launch a few phoen shops on secretshop and looking forward to them.

Personally, I use an app from the android market called "Call Recorder Pro" I use it a lot of times when out in the field not just for shops but my daily work as a PI. it doesn't drain resources and very agile when you have your phone.. I usually start voice recording from within the app, Start recording then turn the phone screen off (power button) and it records in the background.. it records as long as you have space on your phone. you also have cloud settings on it to help ease the trouble of keeping it on your phone and uploading it to the cloud service you have. I use google drive, but it supports Dropbox as well.
There is also a regular version.. it allows for a voice recorder built in

Usually when you self-assign you will be given instructions at that point. Before you assign yourself to a shop make sure you read everything prior to assigning it. you caould be given instructions like:
"**Before conducting your shop, you will be required to fully review the shop objectives attachment, watch a brief prep video (accessible once assigned by clicking on the "Shopper Profile" section of the shop, then copying & pasting the link), and take a pre-test (which will be attached to the shop once assigned).**"

Though I have never been confronted about it, I have been in that situation before where I felt that the employees of the jack in the Box knew what was going on. Considering there is limits to what can be bought usually and how much to spend, it does make it seem unusual to some people that this may happen.
Now then, if I may ask, What made him approach you. were you taking pictures of your food displayed in the way that its documented? if that was the case, and or if you had a been looking at your watch etc that catches their eye if they are observant and you are alone or among very few patrons.
On approach by him, you could have explained you are a "Yelper" this can throw a lot of people off especially. When I am in a dining facility while shopping I put my smart phone on the yelp page for that business and start reading reviews. That way if I do take a picture I pretend its going on yelp.
