Opening new shops

Hello! I am fairly new to isecretshop and wondering if like other MS companies we need to perform shops well to "unlock" additional shops? There are not many available in my area and the ones that are, I really like and would love to do more!

Thank you!

Staci:

Welcome! You do not have to "unlock" shops. All shops, by all MSPs, are available to you in the Available Shops. If you want to see more available shops, you can change the search distance filter (in the upper-left corner of the Available Shops page, above the map) to 50 or 100 miles, and click the search button (a small magnifying glass symbol in that same row) - this will show you the available shops in a wider area.

We have a specialty "badge" system, which you receive for completing certain shop types. Their purpose is to show that you are experienced in those shops. If you request a specialty shop, the badges can have an impact on the schedulers' decisions to assign certain shops or not.

I hope this answers your question!

Thank you Melissa! I did try that, there just must not be a lot available around me.

Thank you!

New shops are being added all the time, so keep checking!

If you have not already, I encourage you to download the iSercetShop app and enable push notifications so you are notified of new opportunities in your area.

Yes I agree, I've been doing this for almost a year. The faster you get notifications the more shops you can pull in.

Hi Staci

If you live in rural area, then count the established shops around you, and then take 1% of that and you get to a rough gauge of how many shops assignments you may expect per year.

By the way This is highly unscientific and I just made it up.

But in reality, the truly only way to increase your shop assignment availablity is to sign up with a whole lot of MSPs and just make sure you keep track of who is hiring you and what time frame you will expect payments.

As far as I know if you fit the demographics of the assignment shop, then you can see that assignment shop, just like anyone else. The first independent contractor who sign up the assignment shop, that is the IC who gets it

So, the adage the early bird gets the worm, and feels good for the rest of the day, is so true here.

Hi Melissa, I pulled up the available shops on my app and I do not see the search distance filter. Actually, I am unable to find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi Cynthia,

From the website, you can specify the distance when looking at available shops. If on the app, you can toggle, Near Home, or to Near Me (while on the go), or Near Other to enter the city or zip you want to look for shops in.
Also, when you click on Update Profile, and scroll down to Notifications, you can specify the distance that you would like to receive shop notifications for.

I hope this helps!

Meghan
