Can anyone tell me of a good audio recording app that I can install on my Android phone? Thanks.

Hi Greg,

I've always been using the native Voice Recording app on my phone - seems to do the trick just fine :)

Do you mean that there is one pre-installed on your phone? I have installed an app on my phone but when I went to do a shop it only recorded part of the conversation. I thought maybe it stopped recording when my phone shut off so I changed my settings to keep the phone on but that didn't help.

I was wondering about this myself. I have a recording app on my phone that was preinstalled, but I thought that was for recording audio in a room (like a song you're listening to). It will also record your phone calls? How do I get it to do that?

Greg, I think some default recording apps have a recording limit set at a certain value - like 5 minutes or 8 minutes, and they cut the recording off at that time. There may be a way to remove that limit in the app settings - although that really depends on the app itself. Also, if your phone memory is low, the recording will stop at the moment it fills up all the space - although that's rarely the case with the modern phones.

I would just search the Google Play store for keywords like "recording" or "voice recording", and then download the most popular/highly rated app from the results :)

Lauren - if you need to record phone calls for shops on iSecretShop, you don't need any apps for that at all - the process is automated. You call the number provided in the guidelines, you then enter the shop ID number when prompted, and the system does the rest - it will record your phone call automatically, and it will upload it to your shop report as soon as you hang up. This is of course, only available on Recorded Phone Call shops.

Cheers!

Personally, I use an app from the android market called "Call Recorder Pro" I use it a lot of times when out in the field not just for shops but my daily work as a PI. it doesn't drain resources and very agile when you have your phone.. I usually start voice recording from within the app, Start recording then turn the phone screen off (power button) and it records in the background.. it records as long as you have space on your phone. you also have cloud settings on it to help ease the trouble of keeping it on your phone and uploading it to the cloud service you have. I use google drive, but it supports Dropbox as well.

automatic-call-recorder-pro-android-thumb.jpg There is also a regular version.. it allows for a voice recorder built in

you could also go onto wish.com and see what they have for recorders , cheap but effective

I use Smart Recorder. It has recorded up to three hours when I forgot to shut it off. Just look in the play store or the app store for a recording app.
