I shop for many companies. It is best to register with as many good companies as possible to see all the options for shops. I recently did an airline shop, actually two of them. It was a beautiful thing to be able to do them while on a business trip and get paid for the shop very generously. It was easy peasy too.

I remember the paper check days and actually even funnier...my mom used to mystery shop too. She used to have to call in the shop because it was pre-computer days. Can you believe it....

You set up a PayPal account and they shop will pay you once you have completed it satisfactory. It usually takes a few weeks to a month or two. Some shops can take a month or two to complete.

I'm somewhat new here, but have been this type of "shopping" for many (many +) years. Getting paid all depends upon the company you accepted the shop from, make sure you read ALL of your shop prior to doing it. The terms and agreements are all within whatever you signed on for for the most part. Each company is usually a bit different, but not by much. I can remember when I used to get an actual paper check mailed to me at one point, yes, a real check, lol. Even for $2.50. Those were the days...hehe. I can't say who, as I signed a NDA(non-disclosure agreement). Now it's usually PayPal, or some electronic form of payment.

Secret shopping, mystery shopping, reveal shopping or whichever type shopping we do I believe is needed in most areas today (and yesterday) as people, workers, management and sometimes the owners in some cases, need to be aware of what is and isn't happening in their business. Just be as true as you can to the shop in any way possible. I took me a few shops to get that down once the anxiety, scariness, thought they knew who I was moment, wore off. After that it's like riding a bike. Have fun with it :) T.
