Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to this site, but not new to secret shopping. I've been evaluating people, places and shops for several years and love doing so. The favorite part of doing this is that we can pick our own shops, our own towns, own times, and own types of businesses (or within reason). It's very versatile to say the least and if you have a positive outlook, it helps you help the business. To be honest, business owners aren't looking for the bad apple or the dirty floors, missing items, etc, they truly want to see a well-running business. But sometimes we happen to run across those glitches. In all of my years of doing this, I have to say, there has only been a handful of negatives. Stay focused and positive. Enjoy your shops and have a great day.

LOL!
I just joined....how do they pay you? Via paypal or is there a section where you can ad your bank account info?
You set up a PayPal account and they shop will pay you once you have completed it satisfactory. It usually takes a few weeks to a month or two. Some shops can take a month or two to complete.
HI all,
I'm somewhat new here, but have been this type of "shopping" for many (many +) years. Getting paid all depends upon the company you accepted the shop from, make sure you read ALL of your shop prior to doing it. The terms and agreements are all within whatever you signed on for for the most part. Each company is usually a bit different, but not by much. I can remember when I used to get an actual paper check mailed to me at one point, yes, a real check, lol. Even for $2.50. Those were the days...hehe. I can't say who, as I signed a NDA(non-disclosure agreement). Now it's usually PayPal, or some electronic form of payment.
Secret shopping, mystery shopping, reveal shopping or whichever type shopping we do I believe is needed in most areas today (and yesterday) as people, workers, management and sometimes the owners in some cases, need to be aware of what is and isn't happening in their business. Just be as true as you can to the shop in any way possible. I took me a few shops to get that down once the anxiety, scariness, thought they knew who I was moment, wore off. After that it's like riding a bike. Have fun with it :) T.
Wassim @ Oct 7, 2017 10:30:33 PMHey Tamara
Yes! That is why we are independent contractors and not employees. To be able to choose what to do with our time. I hope the US Internal Revenue Service will not touch the IC classification and will simply make companies not abuse this status to save money.
We are all hard workers and we provide a needed service.
Where do you Secret Shop?
Hi and sorry it took me so long to respond.
I wasn't ignoring the question at hand, I fell (fun times I tell you..ugh) and was tore up like a little kid going downhill on a bike without a helmet. Don't get old, lol.
Anyway, just about all healed now and shoulder and knees better, phew!
I've shopped from NY to Texas to SC. I love choosing the reveal ones, so they know and I can see the looks on their faces when they've done a great job or maybe I've taught them something they didn't know or didn't see, like, an actual greeting of the customer. "Hey!, how are you today?" or "Can I help you?" That's not a greeting for me, that is if you're coming to dinner at my house, but not a business. That is half a greeting....Hey or hi or hello aren't the same thing. I used to tell my kids, Hey(hay) was for cows. LOL. Now, down south, Hey Ya'll, that's different. but you still need to add something to it or put those two statements together, do not separate them. Don't do your job halfway! I was always told and I pass this along, if you don't like or love your job, no one forces you to be there, find another one! Love your life, yourself, your surroundings; this includes your job. It shows! I pass along, how do you feel when others treat you that way? It makes for a terrible day. Be happy and also when doing phone shops, smile on the phone, it truly shows through, believe me!
