When I do an area search, it seems like all that shows up are types of audits for products which I choose not to buy. I have thought about going out of the area and trying a few of these shops where nobody will recognize me but ultimately, I honestly don't even want to be affiliated with the industry. Is there any way we can block a type of business or name brand so it doesn't show up when searching for available shops?

In the isecretshop website, look on the left hand side of the screen. Click on "Available Shops." Enter the town and state of your location, then click on the magnifying glass. A list of available shops should appear on the map. Read the instructions for each one. If there are any which you like, click "request." The first couple of times, it is a good idea to print out the directions to make sure you don't skip any steps.

You only have to submit the w-9 one time. I think the age and identity tab only have to be completed if you are buying alcohol or items with an age restriction. When they pay through paypal, it goes into your paypal account. You have to request paypal to send the money to your bank account if you are wanting the money. Typically, it takes 6 weeks to receive compensation.

It is strange that they would react rudely. The managers and employees should know that audits and inspections are necessary in order to carry the brands and be recognized as a national company. Today, a customer reported me for taking pictures around the outside of a gas station. She kept staring at me as I photographed the signs, parking lot and gas pumps. When I went inside to check out the restroom, I heard her complaining to the manager. He went outside with her to look for me. In the mean time, four customers were waiting at the unattended cash register. After revealing myself, the man was friendly but did not understand everything as his English was not so great. He was extremely busy with customers and two vendors who were making deliveries and didn't say anything about me photographing merchandise behind the counter.

Hotel shops are hard to find. I have only done a few in the past but in the USA when the boarder was open. :-( SQM used to have a bunch but you only get 50% back.

Just a thought...take a photo for a reference for where you are at, like a cover for the series--an extra storefront, some sign, anything that will distinguish photos from one stop to the next....you can also make sure your photos are uploaded to the cloud, so if you have a laptop or a tablet, you are looking at larger images and choosing the best option if you took a few extra of different angles. If you have the photos backed up, you can also create an album where needed for the larger projects that require more photos. You don't need to keep them forever. These are different ways that you can organize or index your photos visually. Looking at tiny thumbnail images all day is tedious.
Yes, that is a great idea. I did 5 gas stations in one day. After a while, almost all of the pumps look alike. I have started trying to find a nearby parking lot to take the first picture before entering the property. A wide photo of the entire business with the sign helps mark the start of the audit. Also, it seems to work faster to take the pictures on the cell phone then load them into the audit form rather than taking them directly with the iss app.
