I got caught at a video store, I was told to evaluate and buy a DVD. I was told to ask for a specific movie for a birthday present. I asked for the movie and the sales gentleman asked if I wanted the sequel too. It tripped me up because I didn't know there's a sequel - because there's not. I got the notification that I was figured out, AFTER I submitted the report. This was years ago in North Carolina and I have a suspicion they knew I was coming somehow.

I have an east coast drawl and if I call phone shops in a different state I sometimes start with "I just moved to the area..." which works well for haircuts, eye appointment, etc. On the other hand it gets me amazing service at pizza places, best pies I've ever eaten on some of my mystery shops

I love it sometimes - depending on the shop. I refuse to do the scanning audits, I just don't understand how to stay discreet. My favorites are food, my 2nd favorite is amusement parks. One time I've been able to go to an indoor amusement place with a pizza buffet and I had to call the scheduler and ask if I could substitute bumper cars for something else (I was pregnant) so I took my brother and he got to go to the bumper cars instead and I had no issue with getting it accepted. I'd love to do more amusement shops, I'm an arcade lover.
