You adjust the area for the job search function on the job board to the zip codes of wherever you are going and request the shops just as you would normally.
I'm always getting rejected for the web/call jobs for not living in a certain area. They won't reject me for not being from there like they do the web/calls jobs?
I self-assign most of my shops. However, if I had to apply and wait for a scheduler, I'd also send an email to the scheduler letting them know that I was on the road and hoped to pick up the shop during my travels.
Hi,
I'm also new here and to mystery shopping. I also hope to shop while travelling. @MFJohnston do you find that schedulers reply quickly? Is it possible to schedule shops for the same day or within a few days? Thanks!
Thank you @MFJohnston that helps a lot. And good question @R_K. I would like to know that too
You never know how quickly schedulers will reply - each scheduler and each MSC is different. There are times I hear back from schedulers within a few minutes of emailing them and there are times I never hear back When I am on a tight time frame, I will send a message "high priority" and say "today" in the subject line. For shops I want for the same day, however, it is definitely best to have self-assign abilities. ... There are a number of schedulers with whom I have developed decent rapport and I have their cell numbers. I'll text them for last-minute needs.
Doing shops while travelling IS fun. I do it occasionally when going to the beach house in the United States. (I live in Canada) You apply for them just like the ones at home. Reply time is the same. I can self assign 5 shops, so do that before travelling.
