Job availability question

Hello all, I have a question regarding jobs. I just received an email approximately 45 minutes ago. Went to apply for the jobs listed in the email and there is nothing on the website, no jobs at all. Is it possible that they are assigned that quickly to shoppers?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Hi!

Yes, it is very possible that other shoppers picked up the jobs before you went online. Those emails go out to hundreds, if not thousands, of shoppers at the same time. If the job was appealing to you, it likely was for at least a dozen other folks nearby and they simply scooped it up before you got there.

I figured as much, but needed to hear confirmation. Thanks so much for replying. :)

I have noticed that the emails and/or app alerts tend to be a bit delayed versus the actual shop posting time as well. This gap in timing seems to benefit those shoppers who keep close tabs on the site themselves and manually check for new postings rather than simply waiting for a notification to be sent out. It can be quite frustrating to be alerted about a great shop opening only to login and see that it's already gone. Better luck next time tho!

I hope that helps!

I have a suggestion to help you out that I noticed and has helped me. If you login to the iSS website on an actual browser and go to your profile, there's a section called "notification settings" and you can get personalized alerts for all new shops that you've already received badges for. The verbiage states the following :"You have received badges for the following specialties. Because you have received these badges, you can receive push notifications when new opportunities are released."

That's great advice Tara and Jason!

And Cheryl, there can be various reasons why the shops that you were emailed about are not on the Available Shops page.

Some shops are in very high demand, as MFJohnston said, and it happens that they are already picked up by other shoppers by the time you login and check the Available Shops page.

Some shops have specific requirements such as age or gender, and if you do not meet those requirements, you will not be able to see the shops on the Available Shops page or do them.

Some shops are posted in large numbers, and when a certain limit of scheduled shops is reached, the rest become "hidden" from the Available Shops page, as no more can be assigned.

In any case, for the most accurate information about any shop's availability and/or reasons why you might not be seeing some shops, I advise contacting the MSP that posted them, so their schedulers could provide you with most accurate answers.

Cheers!
