I received an email about a secret shopping job. I want to accept the job. I went into the app and accepted the contract through "Goodwin" and made sure my paypal address was good, but I cannot find the job under assignments or shops? I emailed the MSP but have yet to get an email back. I suspect he is gone for day. Could it mean that the already had enough people take the job? Im very new and this. This will be my first job, so any help would be appreciated.
Hi!
Most likely, the email you received was a mass email sent out to all shoppers in your area who work with Goodwin. (It is common for MSC's to make mass emails look personalized). Because the email likely went to so many folks that somebody else scooped the job up before you did. It is also not super likely that you will get an email back as schedulers are pretty busy folks and deal with an awful lot of email.
So that you can move more quickly on shops, I strongly suggest that you go ahead and sign all your ICA's on iSS right away. I also suggest that you test the waters a little with an easy shop right off the job board first - just to get comfortable with the process. Goodwin is a great company, but often has some more complicated jobs (i.e. nice meals out, expensive shows, etc.) that require a lot of detail. You'll want to make sure you are familiar with mystery shopping in general before you jump into more complicated jobs.
Okay thank you! I assumed some one might have scooped up and took the offer before me. I went ahead and signed all my ICA's. Thank you for your help!
You are welcome. I've been doing this for a couple of years and have found it a great way to supplement my income. Good luck!
There is the simple cell phone shops, they are super easy, a great way to get your feet wet...
They keep 9-5 hours. Not easy to get help or information.
But, yes, somebody probably took the job.
Hey Rebecca,
There can be various reasons why the shops that you were emailed about are not on the Available Shops page:
-Some shops have specific requirements such as age or gender, and if you do not meet those requirements, you will not be able to see the shops on the Available Shops page or do them - this is done to prevent the cluttering of the Available Shops page with shops you can't do.
This is usually the case with "compliance" shops, those designed to test if you'll be asked for an ID when buying alcohol or cigarettes (you have to be a specific age to do those, for example)
-Some shops are posted in large numbers, and when a certain limit of scheduled shops is reached, the rest become "hidden" from the Available Shops page, as no more can be assigned.
-Some shops are in very high demand, and it often happens that they are already picked up by other shoppers by the time you login and check the Available Shops page (as the others have mentioned here).
-Sometimes Mystery Shopping Providers suspend shopper profiles from seeing/accessing their shops, in case they do not wish to work with a specific shopper, and in that case all shops from that MSP will be hidden to that shopper. As a new shopper, this is almost certainly not the case with you, but it's still worth mentioning.
In any case, for the most accurate information about any shop's availability and/or reasons why you might not be seeing some shops, I suggest you contact the MSP that posted them, and their schedulers will provide you with the most accurate answers.
Cheers!
The longer a shopper works with a specific MSP and does outstanding work for them, the easier it will be to get those shops that disappear before you even login. Schedulers and editors notices these things. It does make a difference. Keep plugging away.
Well said!
