Hi Erika,

There is no average pay amount, as shoppers are not employees - every shopper is free to take as many (or as little) shops as they want/can, and the payment for each shop can be different, based on what the MSP (Mystery Shopping Provider) that posts it decides. You can do one or two shops a year, or hundreds of shops each month, you can do a few high-paying shops occasionally or dozens of low-paying ones regularly - all this is entirely up to shoppers.

Hi Erika,

I do this part time only. Also, I am happy to be reinbursed for products as well as make money. Mostly I do this for fun and to get some products that I will use.

I have only started this in April, but am making decent beer money (I don't drink much beer). I started out with small shops that required very little time or investment (eg purchase for reimbursements). The shop fees were pretty small but I didn't want to lose time/money if the shops got declined. I am in this for the money, but some MSP's routinely only offer reimbursement for purchases. I only do those if it is a company I haven't worked with yet, to get my foot in the door and see how they operate. Once that is done, then I will only apply for money-paying jobs with or without purchase/ reimbursements. I have a couple of MSP's now that contact me before shops or projects are posted to see if I am interested. So, start out small to get your feet wet, then slowly progress to bigger and better opportunities.
