One of my favorite mystery shops I got was I had to go in on an overnight shift to KB toys and re-price all their toys and I did all the KB toys that were within an hour driving me when I was 16 got paid 1350 an hour, no taxes taken out And I was able to have my friends come with me. It was fun.
One of the hardest, mystery shops I got was actually only going to pay me two dollars but they wanted I think it was like 10 different pictures of me, but they had to be different angles, wearing different things in different backgrounds and it was a lot for two dollars I didn’t complete the task. It was kind of ridiculous.
Shop on
My hardest one was finding the prices for $150 items at Walmart automotive. Supposed to take a picture of anything that was outside the expected price range. I wasn’t able to complete; for one reason it was next to impossible to be discreet, and many items were behind a locked glass cabinet with the prices hidden. I have read in the forum that some people do these shops with their spouses. This one really needed to be split into shorter shops.
My favorite was trying on wedding dresses. Paid well too.
That sounds like fun.
Even though the pay is low, I like Canadian Tire Dynamic reviews. They're revealed, which I like, and the managers are so happy to show of what they've done.
The worst was McDonald's delivery!
This is the only shop I ever gave up on.
When I was nearing 100 SCREENSHOTS of, among the landing page and various miscellaneous pages that I swear are only there to F#$% with you, each menu page which shows drinks (that must be overlapping), the individual drink options on the beverage menus (hot, cold and frozen) including each size, with prices; I started thinking about how I must THEN, before loading them individually (and not in order as they appear) on a long and redundant form that times-out every 30 mins (if you don't remember to hit enter, then re-enter the survey every 20-25 mins, you have to start again) enter each drink, choosing from long lists of drinks that aren't necessarily available in your region and are categorized differently from the menus you observed; THEN in the next section, price them out (that means look through the thumbnails to find and blow up each pic so you can read the prices); I got an instant headache, deleted the photos and unassigned the shop.
Oh before all that, the shop starts with a survey of who you are and what your experience was.
The survey must be completed that same day (not 24 hours) or the system removes it. Also mistakes get the shop declined, not incomplete, DECLINED.
LOL I have done the CT Dynamic reviews and I guess depends on the manager. My location is awful so no longer do them.
McD photo shop was ok but did on my McD app. I have never done the delivery or kiosk version.
Most challenging but enjoy them are casino shops. You need exact times, names and slot locations. Lots of details but good reimbursement and pay.
SO far have only done McDonalds Kiosk shops. They take about 30 minutes for about 30 dollars. Lots of pics and can be hard to remain hidden. Also so far of the five i have done only two have been accepted. One needed a better picture but it expired before I could get that and two are in for a 2nd review!
So, I am reading the advice of you all and moving on to different things :)
My best shop was a "Deluxe tour" of a certain Hollywood studio! Got to see lots of recognizable locations and eat in the commissary, where we saw Matt Damon!
Worst was probably an apartment shop, I didn't know how heinous they were before starting, lol.
I just completed my 1st shop. It was HVAC for $350. I loved it. It's a lot of paperwork tho. The secretshop website paperwork is so user friendly.

Missed this part. That is awful when a shop gets declined that you spend a lot of time on. Lesson learnt!
