Hello,
I am trying to figure out how things work around here and I’m hoping some of y’all can help. I am new here, and my self-assign limit is set at two. I have quickly noticed that whenever I request a shop, and if I am not already at my limit of two, it successfully assigns me right away. However, if I am at my limit of two, I get declined 100% of the time. Are some of these gigs automatically declining you?
My first shop was a phone call for a fitness center and it went great. I got approved for payment almost immediately. That same fitness center has quickly declined all my other requests when I’m at the limit of 2.
Last week I had no assigned shops and I requested a really nice lunch one at a popular spot. I figured it would get scooped up fast. I got assigned immediately. Do you think that was because I did not have anything else assigned? If that’s the case, it’s almost worth it to always have room for one more self-assign just in case something highly desirable pops up. Or maybe drop the $5 phone call one in order to make room for something better? But then I think you might get dinged for un-assigning yourself.
How long does it take for your limit to start getting bumped up? For you experienced folks, what’s your limit?
Too new to know yet. The only fitness center here that has shops I am already a member and know the owner so that is out.
Hopefully the experienced folks can help
I have the same thing going on. My self-assign limit is 3. I get declined often for phone shops and at first I thought it was just the one company declining me, but it's not. Even with my limit full, I was assigned almost immediately to a high-paying dinner shop and at the same time declined for a $5 phone shop to another location of the same company where I had already successfully completed a phone shop for a third location and also already assigned to a high-paying in-person shop at the same location where I completed the phone shop. So after thinking about it and hearing that it happens to you too, as well as reading some of the older posts in the forum, I think maybe the answer is that it's actually the phone shops which are highly desirable because they can be done from home, they are basically the equivalent of being paid a dollar a minute, and they are a fast and easy way to raise in rank, so they probably have a lot of requests from all over the internet. I'm guessing they assign to the highest rank of the requests. If you are lucky enough to catch it and auto-assign it then you get it, but if you have to request it then there are so many people with higher rank than you (and me too) that you never get the ones you request. I even recently saw three phone shops offering ZERO pay and they got taken, so I think phone shops are actually the highly desirable jobs. This is all just speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt!
Hello and thanks for chiming in. I also recently saw three phone shops that were for zero pay and I emailed the scheduler and asked if there was some missing information and I never heard back. People should definitely not be working for zero pay, it just kind of drags everybody else down. I agree with the phone shops being super easy, you don’t even have to get dressed or get in your car. I do them from work! I see a lot of five dollar ones that are basically quick hits and I’ve got one that I’m doing on Saturday. A lot of the phone shops appear to be more involved, like the college admissions ones where you need to make an inquiry then wait for them to call you back. I think a key to utilizing them best is to grab one that you can do right away so it doesn’t sit on your list and basically take up space that could be utilized for something more lucrative. I’ve only been doing this for a few weeks and already I’ve figured out quite a few things!
I am on the app a lot, at all hours, and with the phone shops being declined it often happens at odd hours or middle of the night, typically within a few minutes after I request that shop. That’s what makes me think that there’s an automatic decline feature because I don’t think there’s a human working in the middle of the night looking to decline people LOL
It could very well be that they are automatically assigned to whomever (highest rank or whatever) and then after that they're automatically declined; maybe the decline announcement goes out a certain amount of time after it's assigned. I just came back to say that there's a monthly shop I have completed several times already and I just realized that even though I am at my self-assign limit, I was able to immediately self-assign the shop at two locations so there is definitely some kind of box they can tick or some way for them to say "this person can automatically self-assign this shop in the future." Perhaps in the case of middle-of-the-night declines, that's when someone was able to self-assign themselves with priority over the waiting requests, which triggered a denial for everyone else who requested it?
So how do u know ur declined or they excepted you
Im so confused how do you know if you were excepted or declined? Idk what to do!!!
You will get an email telling you if you have been accepted or declined. This might not happen immediately though. If you go to the home screen on your app, there are two yellow tiles that are especially important. One of them is your assigned shops and the other one is your requests. If you have requested a shop but not yet been assigned you will find it under requests. All the information is there, I suggest you spend some time poking around on the app looking for where everything is. This will be helpful for when you actually start doing some work.
Wow lol I've been poking around on the and obviously I haven't seen either but thank u smart ass

I just completed a bunch of shops which brought me down to only two in my queue, so I have one more self-assign slot now.... I went right to the phone shops list to try to grab one and then I realized I should keep the slot open in case something highly desirable comes up! XD
Same here, I’m leaving an open spot!
This morning there was an easy phone call one and I decided to take a pass on it because the next available date to do it was like April 12 and I didn’t want that clogging up my list for that long.
