I did a "secret shop" where I had to mail a package at a post office I usually use. Followed ALL the instruction, correct size, weight (weighted package at home), etc., no pictures in the post office, etc.
My scale at home indicated the package was slightly over 1 lb, which was a specification of the "secret shop." At the post office, the "official" scale recorded the package at slightly under 1 lb. Of course, my payment has been rejected (only $5, not a big deal), but I am being refused reimbursement of $13.45 (the cost to send the package, which was not something I needed to send). What a scam. I have a perfect secret shopper reputation. They had just lost my participation from any future shops where I have to outlay an amount. Anyone else have this problem, and were just "waved off" by the iShop team, with no consideration to the effort on their behalf?
Yeah, it has happened to me.
I had done some post office shops for another company. They sent us a scale to weigh our package to make sure that this did not happen. They also paid us more!!
I will never do these again. I sent to the wrong zone and did not get paid. As mentioned, a new company took over and pays less in reimbursement and pay. Good luck finding shoppers! :-)
I read mystery shopper forum reviews for these post office shops all the time, and it does not seem a lucrative way to make money even when it all is going well with the weight. I take a hard pass on these type of jobs.
I preform this USPS shops all the time. I found the way to protect yourself, is buy something from the store that is that weight. Like I send pinto beans, rice, stuff like that to a friend. It's super cheap to buy, it never waivers as the weight.
What I have found from all shops in general, they say over and over again in the shop details to read and follow directions. I have lost pay on shops for simple thing I over looked, a picture of a specific item, an extra phone call I did not make. What they want is for us to follow the rules regardless, I think, it makes them think we have actually read all the paper work they give us to go through before the shop.
Just my thoughts. Good luck everyone.
Si I shipped 1lb of rice and a small item and the post office scale said it was 12 ounces. When my shop was denied I sent a picture of the contents and it was still denied. The shopper should not be penalize bc the post office scale isn’t calibrated.

I would love to know what everybody does to stop the harassing calls from Bare after completing one of these shops. I tell them no every single time, and tell them why. They call me every damned day, sometimes twice a day. They said they would put a note in my profile, but they lied. They then told me to delete my phone number from my profile if I wanted phone calls to stop!! Can you believe that garbage?? Anybody have advice?
Yep had the same thing happen to me. That was the last one I accepted. Then they had the nerve to call me asking if I can do some of the assignments. Hard pass
I sell lots of stuff on ebay so I use these shops to make more money on things I have to ship. Buyer pays for shipping so I get reimbursed for the shipping and get paid for the shop. It's a win win for me. You could also post a message on Facebook asking.if any friends need packages shipped and you could run it to the post office for them they pay for the shipping and you get reimbursed. Triples your shop pay and your friend got an errand run.
