I am new to this site and my first shop tomorrow. Doing the scout shopping presentation on Tuesday. Any one else here does this as their main source of income? If so, what is the best way to earn a lot of extra cash in a short period of time?

Hi Kristin -

I've been doing this about 7 years, but never as a main source of income.

Until this year, it was extremely casual, but this year, I've decided to step up and treat it more like a serious business.

A few things I've found to help:

  1. self-assign shops that are geographically close to each other, so you can travel more efficiently
  2. consider registering with multiple mystery shopping sites. Each has strengths, weaknesses, pay and different types of assignments
  3. make sure you give yourself enough time to finish & submit your reports on time.

I've always wanted to do this so I am excited!! But when you look at the jobs Iits a little confusing. I don't see any names I recognize and I don't see any details of what the expectation is? Do you get that information after you agree?

I agree you probably can’t use a single company as a main source of income.

For me, this is a hobby income that often allows me to go out when I otherwise wouldn't work it into my budget. I've been doing it for 2 years and have never seen it be a steady income source. But it is fun and nice to have a little cash here and there.

I'm registered with over 10 companies and make about $2k a month including Field Inspection work. It helps if you live in/near a metropolitan area.

New to this hobby/business. Do you have any good recommendation for the companies?

Where is it that you are from, I'm from Indiana and i feel that we have a great deal of variety here to choose from. I have been doing this for the last 8 years along with working from home as a customer and product support rep along with recruiting others to work from home as well.

If you need a lot of income quickly, mystery shopping is probably not a very good choice. I say that because many mystery shopping companies can take up to 2 weeks to 2 months to pay. Plus, many assignments require a cash outlay and if you fail to complete all aspects of the assignment properly you/we will not be paid at all.

Hello Everyone

I'm new on this platform and would like to know when can I expect to get assignments or is there anything specific I need to do first?
