I did a shop at a local small grocery store in my town. The requirements were to shop in all departments and revue each with photos. They wanted names or descriptions of each employee that I spoke to - it’s medium size grocery store for a small chain company. Most of the departments are within hearing range of each other.

i got the photos and some names but described most of the employees because I thought running around the store and recording everyone’s name would be odd. They wanted names of :

meat dept employee

deli employee

produce employee

grocery worker

manager

grocery clerk

bagging clerk

i submitted a very thoughtful review and spent over 30 min in the store (for $5) and it was rejected because I didn’t get enough names and chose to describe most of the employees (says: Employee Name OR Description

I’m definitely going to let people know what a rip off this site is! I’m just a little bitter!!

Wow that's tough! I'm sorry you had to go through that but that's why I try reading through the guidelines before taking a shop. If it sounds really time consuming and not worth the pay, I don't take them. Was it on isecretshop or another platform?

Ooooh, Joan, don't do that again. $5 barely covers your gas.

This site is not a rip off. That shop was a rip off. There are many companies doing business through this site, so lumping them all together is not fair nor accurate.

The fact it's a local small grocery store may have something to do with it.I think they might not have the corporate standards a chain might have.

Try contacting your scheduler to dispute the rejection. Explain how you were able to get the names of some of the employees and offer reasons why you were unable to obtain the names of other employees (ie no name tag, name tag hidden by hair or sweater or apron, employee behind counter so too far to read name). Good luck!

In the future I would not take that low pay for the high amount of work, so just read through the guidelines before accepting.

I agree you should have been paid for that one and the pay is awfully low.....maybe a typo and it should of been $15.00? In a lot of smaller places there are no name tags.

Never question companies too much on their practices. They will simply fire you. Choose shops carefully and make sure the pay is fair. Grocery store shops can be real time consuming especially if you find things wrong. Reviewers really hate it when you have issues. They may send the report back several times for you to clarify.
