No Shops in My Area?

Hello,

When you login to iSecretShop, and go to either Update Profile or Update Extended profile, you will see your shopper ID at the very top of the page.

Thanks!

Hi from Amsterdam

Hi Ruby,

Well, iSecretShop as a platform is not yet - but I'm sure plans are in place to get there eventually. However, you can use this Forum to get a lot of information about secret shopping in general, and apply that knowledge for secret shopping opportunities in your own area.

Thanks!

*** IMPORTANT *** Possible scam

Thank you so much for the warning Wassim!

Cases like this are sadly not uncommon, with people trying to scam shoppers in various ways, so it's always prudent to be careful.

Here are a few things to look out for when receiving emails from schedulers that haven't contacted you before:

  • The email address should always be a corporate email (like for example ivan@prismintelligence.com) - private emails like @gmail, @yahoo, @icloud, etc. should always raise suspicions (and are not authorized to be sent via iSecretShop).
  • The emails themselves that are being sent through iSecretShop should always contain reference to the iSecretShop platform (whether by directing you to login to iSecretShop, or informing you that you are receiving the email because you're registered at iSecretShop, or something similar)
  • The emails should, in most cases, contain the exact location/locations (and/or the specific address) that's being shopped, and you should be able to login to iSecretShop and look it up under Available Shops.

These are just some of the tell-tell signs of a possible scam, so always be sure to check (as Wassim did), and you can even open a support ticket for iSecretShop, to check if the person that sent you an email is registered as a scheduler for any MSP. In this case, this Dave person, is definitely not.

Thanks again Wassim!

Double standard

Hi Janis,

Personally, I haven't encountered any "terrible" cases of this, but an occasional spelling error in the questions and/or offered answers does poke my eye from time to time, although I mostly write that off as a "professional deformation" as I majored in Linguistics.

As for instructions asking for error-free reports, there's probably a good reason for that - imagine being an editor and having to make the choice between declining a report (which they all avoid doing if they can) and spending up to an hour correcting and rewriting someone's report instead of reviewing and approving 5 others.

If you do notice errors like those happening in the instructions/guidelines/questions/offered answers, don't hesitate for a second to let the MSP know - feedback like that will help them improve their guidelines, shop reports, etc, so I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

Thanks!

Adult stores

Hmmm. well if you have completed an Adult Store shop, and it got approved but you don't have the badge, then I suggest emailing the MSP that posted the shop, as they should set it up so that it awards the right badge.

Thanks!
