Hi Tommy,
It's not complicated at all - to change your profile information (address, phone numbers, email address, etc.) simply log into iSecretShop.com and go to the "Update Profile" tab. You can make all the desired changes there.
If you wish to update other (non-contact) information as well, you can do so on the "Update Extended Profile" tab.
As for the system itself, here is how it works:
-Once you log into iSecretShop, go to the "Available Shops" page, and browse the shops that are posted.
-When you see the one you are interested in, you click "View Details" and it will open a pop-up window with all the information on the shop.
-Then, you can either self-assign that shop, or click "Request shop" to submit a request for a specific date. The schedulers are frequently reviewing these requests, so it should be approved soon.
*If you are prompted to sign the iSecretShop Terms of Use or the Mystery Shopping Provider's contract first, you can do so on the "Provider Contracts and Policies" page.
*If you are prompted to enter your PayPal email address, you may do so on the "Update Extended Profile" page.
-Once you have a shop assigned to you, you can always view it on the "Assigned Shops" page - there you can see all shops you have assigned, and can click "Complete Shop" on any of them to see the full shop information, the shop instructions, the questions, or/and fill out the shop report.
-If you have any questions about a particular shop, you can always contact the MSP that posted it, and their schedulers/editors will be happy to help.
-When you are done filling out the shop report - you click "Finalize Shop" to submit it - it will be reviewed to editors and either approved, or returned to you for additional information (if so, it will appear back in your "Assigned Shops" page).
-After the shop is approved, you can communicate with the MSP regarding your payment for that shop.
I also advise going to iSSprep.com and doing courses like "iSS 101" and "iSS 102" - these will not only provide you with additional knowledge, but will also gran you shopper points, boosting your rank rather quickly. You can also click the Forum button on iSecretShop to go to the forum and look up various subjects and connect with the shopper community.
I hope this helps!
Hi Tommy,
I think I answered your question on this thread:

Cheers!
That's horrible Frances! I'm a pretty patient man myself, but I think I would have lost it in that situation :)
And those are some great pieces of advice Heather, especially about calling the location!
That is a very methodical approach! I love that, I bet it makes things a lot easier if you are a serious shopper and completing lots of shops every moth.
Thank you for the insights!
Well, I guess that could be possible depending on the shop...but I know that for example, car dealerships do ask you for a dirver's license in order for you to be able to take a test drive, meaning that you have to provide your real name, and a contact mail/phone where you can be reached for follow up.
But if you don't need to reveal your true name, then yeah, anything goes :)
Your assumption is correct - all of your badges are visible to schedulers at a glance, next to your name (not too different from what it looks like here on the Forum), when you request a shop.
So if they are reviewing requests for their retail shops, and see that you have a high level Retail badge, you are far more likely to get the shop than other shoppers that requested it and and didn't have as much experience in that kind of shops. Also, if someone is both a scheduler and an editor, the first shoppers to get their requests approved might be those with a Grammarian badge, as that scheduler/editor will know that they won't have to spend a lot of time reviewing & editing the report once the shop is done. Then, for example, some price audit shops are set to not have any self-assign limits for shoppers that have a level 2 or higher Price Audit badge, meaning that those shoppers can just grab half a dozen or a dozen of those at a time, while others have to request them, and even then might only get 2 or 3.
There are various other badges too, each giving you an edge in certain circumstances - for example, Last Minute Assist badge will make you a top candidate to be emailed/called with a special bonus last minute shop opportunity; the Quality and Reliability badges will make schedulers more inclined to offer or assign some new or more challenging (and more rewarding) shops to you over others, etc.
Even without all of those, if you have simply done a lot of different shops and have several different badges like Retail, Dining, Automotive, etc - it sends a clear message, at a glance, that you are an active shopper with lots of experience, and that makes you someone who the schedulers will love giving shops to.
Cheers!
