Downstocking Question

Down stocking is common in retail stores and means that the store commonly uses that top shelf which most customers can't reach as extra quick storage. As a way to rotate stock especially during busy times just say Thanksgiving the store will put common things or large items as an example turkey gravy on that top shelf to save some time once it becomes empty to just move it down into it's proper home instead of needing to go to the storage area to find that item and put more on the shelf. Larger items would be like Costco selling rugs or fire safes that several just won't fit on the shelf. Usually for shoppers it would reference inventory control and making sure the item on that top shelf has a lower home instead of being five isles away, but may also include product rotation for expiration dates with perishable items.

Making up a complaint for a hotel visit

I normally do assisted living homes and apartments so some of the complaints I've used include:

  • Lighting being too bright/dark due to the direction the window is facing
  • Strong smells
  • Traffic noise
  • Proximity to the ice maker/trash/parking/pool/kitchen
  • Worn/dirty carpet
  • Water pressure
  • Noisy AC unit
  • Room size
  • ADA compliance with doors being too narrow
  • Bathroom size / Lack of hand rails / Loose Towel racks / Slippery floors
  • Dust

Some are fairly big complaints, some the hotel can't really do much about but as Jennifer said it's more just to see if they address the issue and try to overcome it or just tell you sorry our spot is just a terrible place.

Audio Shop Tips

I have a small clipboard I put my iPhone on just face down latched to the part that would hold the paper and "take notes" as we're discussing certain things like prices or new discounts for quick move-in dates like I'm going to relay that information later. It keeps the phone in plain sight and I can put it closer to the other person without it being observed as a recording device. When you're walking, just keep the phone around chest level and keep the clipboard or your purse or whatever on the same side as the other person is. Pockets make the recording difficult and a guy walking in with a purse would seem a bit odd, but something to take notes on is 100% accepted in every scenario I've been in so far. To save paper, I'll usually even use the same paper and just different quarters of it throughout the different shops.

Certification!?!?

There's a few shops in Tucson that require the certification, but its going into Costco and scanning 600+ items for a few days until the 1,800/1,900 scans is complete. I personally don't have the time, patience or desire to go hang out in Costco for several hours on a treasure hunt for a payout of $114 when I can easily do three other shops and make slightly more.

Enlighten me

Going to agree with Thomas on this one. There's several shops in my area offering $114 just for scanning items with your phone. Here's the problems I can see with it so far:

1.- You already need a Costco card

2.- You need to scan 1,900+ items while in Costco

3.- Average payout is 45 days from accepted assignment

So you'll literally spend 3-4 hours scanning items in the store where as I've done assisted living shops at anywhere between $100 - $125 and apartment shops at anywhere between $30 - $50 but they only take 45 minutes to an hour each. One of the better ones I did was yesterday for a payout of $12 but the company is reimbursing the $96 oil change so it was a free oil change that the car needed anyway and they paid me on top of it. They gave me a 10 rating and then they started sending me more offers so I may end up borrowing my parents vehicles to have the same done also. (Same with the apartment shops and assisted living) just make a name for yourself and the better ones will come along but you'll also know which ones you enjoy doing more after a while and which companies are nicer to work with.

New Secret Shopper

Alex, this really depends on your area. The more you apply to the more chances you'll have to be accepted. The more shops you complete with a high ranking I think the better chance you'll have of getting more based on that ranking. Web/phone shops are rough though from experience I applied to no joke about 20 of them before I finally got one. For the in person shops, I look for ones that have multiple shops in my area then if you're accepted to one just Email the scheduler and offer to take on more from them. My first week I ended up with eight shops just from doing that and putting myself out there.

Missing shop payments

I personally had six shops all turned in and ready to go. One of my phone shops was approved and lifetime has been there for a few days but nothing in payout so far. The others were all finished and turned in last week and only one if them has been in review for almost a week now. Honestly, I'm just going to wait and see if/when I get paid before taking any more shops from this platform, or those specific recruiters. The phone shop that's paying out the fastest was the mattress ones asking about the benefits of their product and they showed the pending deposit and feedback within three days.

Anxiety.block

It gets easier as you do them. Go with stuff you're comfortable doing first then branch out and try something new.
