Not getting requested jobs. Why?

Most often, other shoppers who have more points and badges have opportunity to grab them. If a shopper with a higher self-assign limit is looking around for something, they can self-assign it to themselves and all requests are cancelled and out the door. Also, schedulers at MSPs have the ability to see your track record and can either assign it to you or decline it, based upon what they see in your shopper profile (your shopper history).

Hope that helps.

I stand corrected on the shopper side. I spoke with some schedulers at different MSPs and they told me that even if a shop is requested, other shoppers who have more points cannot self-assign. My apology for the misinformation. It is up to the schedulers, and even editors, to make request decisions based upon both shopper reputation and client preferences. Thanks for reading.

Is there supposed to be an email sent with instructions for a shop?

Good questions. When you self-assign a shop, or get it from a request you made, either way the system generates an email with the attached guidelines, the date you chose for the shop, and any other pertinent information. If you do not receive an email for requested shops, it has been given to another shopper by the MSP. If you do not receive an email for a shop you self-assign, contact the MSP immediately as there may be problems. Also, be sure to check your Spam?Junk/Trash or other folders because sometimes the system sends it there, depending on your email platform. FYI: stay away from AOL, they are very unreliable for emails. Even iSS says stay away. If you have AOL, switch to a new email server for your shops, that way you won't have that problem.

As for the Resend Overview button, all that does is re-send the email which you should have received in the first place. This is another way of obtaining that email/information should you not have got it

Last, always check your email in plenty of time before your shop date (even last minute ones) as things are constantly updated and/or revised.

Hope this helps. Thanks for reading.

Education is key...

I have checked into certification myself based upon this thread. It looks good, sounds good, and maybe good. I even reached out to iSS and asked them. They said that the certification looks good, shows that you are increasing your knowledge base with shopping, and it looks good. Does iSS or MSPs on this platform use it, very rarely. However, if you are on multiple platforms, then certification might be more of an added +.

For video shops, I recommend checking out the video courses listed in other threads in this forum. Basic knowledge in the equipment and the shop expectations might come in handy, especially for newbies not having done any, like myself. Also, you can lease or get a loan on the equipment to get a start, so its not so much out of pocket. This way, after a shop or so, if you like it save up for the stuff, and if not, you at least get some points and even a badge for just trying it out.

How do I contact the contractor

Have you already completed the shop? You can't get paid unless you complete the shop on the date you chose. As to the matter of no response, go to your list of MSPs (select the link in the left column of your main iSS page) and scroll down to the MSP listed for the shop you booked. There should be a phone number listed along with their email. Try that and see if you can speak to the scheduler.

When you refer to a contractor, I gather you mean the MSP. If you are referring to the Client, that information is unable as the MSP will not provide that information (usually the shop contains that information anyway).

Hope that helps.

No form will be issued. The scheduler will either reschedule the shop for you or cancel. However, if they cancel then you lose points. Make sure to ask them not to deduct any points after explaining the situation. Glad I could assist.

Caught in a lie at my mystery shop

Hello, I too have recently completed some mobile phone shops. However, my instructions were very explicit. I was under no circumstances to tell the cell phone associate about anything: my phone, my plan, my budget, my number, Nothing! Also, in my instructions, I was just to let the associate do all of the talking. I give a simple once-over that I was seeking a phone, and provided the scenario in my shop instructions. I made no references to specific phones, plans, etc. I let the associate guide to the recommended phones and get the information. When it comes to checking the inventory about phones in-stock, the shops I've done the associate goes into the back and physically checks.

A suggestion, when I am asked how I can be helped right at the start, I just pretend to have moved into the area and am looking at some smartphones. When asked about service or my plan, I just state that I prefer not to reveal the poor, disreputable provider I have out of professional courtesy. That usually quiets down the probing and then I proceed with the phones in the shop. My shops have been on phone recommendations, not customer service so my primary focus has been on the phones, not the staff.

Lastly, take that front of store picture required before entering the store. As an added precaution, I don't even take my phone with me inside of these cell phone places -- eliminates a lot of unnecessary probing and revealing of unneeded information on both the shopper and the associate.

Hope that helps in future shop scenarios for you and others. Thanks for reading.

Referrals?

When you login to iSS and on the main webpage, LOOK AT THE TOP, and you will see the following list:

Refer Friends iSS Prep Certifications Ticket System Secret Shop Forum English (with an arrow) Logout

It is on the same line as the LOGOUT but in the opposite corner.

I tried to upload a screenshot, but the system would not paste it, so here is the manual information. Hope this helps all!

REMEMBER: look in the upper left-hand corner of the top of the page, that's where you'll find the Refer Friends choice.
